Your niche is something you really love to do and are passionate about. It's your new direction online (in life?). Most people don't think what they'd really love to do. This is the basis for a Home Business. It really no more complicated than that.

Figure out what you love to do if you'll be paid for it or not. If you have that much passion for it, you're bound to be successful.

Certain people make a lot of money by offering the newest "snake potion". It dates back to the middle 1850's. It's an old trick that I'm sorry to say still gets results. They figure you'll buy anything.

Fast forward to 2010. You're new to the marketing game (yup, it's still a game). The snake oil people are still there and trying to sell you the stuff online.

Why? Because they can. Lots of people join the latest & greatest because they don't have direction. All you need to do is pick your passion for a business, have laser focus and just don't stop. You'll make money. It's really no more complicated than that.

Get the good old pad and pencil out and make a list. Then...

 

Find your niche - for an online business you'd love, just go here first.

It's the Google keyword tool . Type in your keywords- something you'd really be good at: Please note - phrases are best as opposed to individual words. Type in the "captcha" letters and hit the keyword ideas button.

 

Now, here's the secret. When your results come up, go to the "choose columns to display" button, and switch it to "Average CPC" (costs per click).

This is what people are actually paying for their keywords.

 

Here's your data:

What you do with it. Look at all the related keywords to your niche . Look at the estimated average CPC first. Anything over $1.00 is good - this is what advertisers are paying per keyword.

Look at the search volume. If there's lots of people searching what you typed in, it's probably a good niche and should be considered for your new home business.

Bookmark the keywords tool. You'll be coming back...

Now you're into research. Play with the "columns to display drop down" in the upper right hand corner. When you think you've found the phrases or keywords you want, just click "add" at the end of the column.

Google will add them to a list you can download later. Save these keywords for your advertising.

You'll need a good week or two of research before you even think of starting your business. Do the research first to make sure if it will pay you before you start.
